Halloween

Halloween
It was Halloween night, and the sky was very dark. Three brave children walked down the quiet, spooky street. They wore funny costumes and carried big plastic buckets. Suddenly, they saw an old, haunted house on the hill. A giant jack-o'-lantern burned with an orange fire on the porch. The children walked up the creaky wooden steps. They knocked on the heavy door and shouted, "Trick or treat!" Nobody answered, but the door opened slowly by itself. A black cat ran out of the house and hissed loudly. Inside, white spiderwebs covered the dusty walls and chairs. Suddenly, a cold wind blew through the dark hallway. A tall, scary ghost appeared and floated in the air. The ghost laughed loudly and shook a heavy metal chain. The terrified children dropped all of their sweet candy. They screamed and ran away into the foggy night. The children ran until they reached their own warm, safe house. They locked the front door tightly. Their mother smiled and handed them hot mugs of chocolate. Suddenly, they heard a soft knock on the living room window. They looked out and saw the ghost holding their candy buckets. The ghost smiled, waved goodbye, and vanished into the night.
