Ordinal Numbers: Floors

We use ordinal numbers to indicate the position of a floor in a building. This helps to describe the vertical location of a floor relative to the ground or a reference point, such as the ground floor or the basement.

In the US, the first floor is normally considered the ground floor but not in the UK.
